Disarming Your Stress Tripwire
Description

Life’s emergencies can force our nervous system into “whatever it takes” mode - like hot-wiring a car to escape a dangerous situation. If this mode gets stuck as our everyday state, we often experience chronic illness and pain. This workshop is about disarming our emergency response to restore our natural body-mind connection so that we’re not on a hair-trigger any more.
We will explore the somatic techniques of practical pausing, micro-movement, and felt-sense focusing to reconnect our mind and our body’s wisdom, and repattern away from emergency responses.
Join Meredith Holladay, a somatic and trauma-informed bodyworker, to learn how pause, pace, and pattern affect the relationship between stress and your body. This is a Trauma Informed, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC-safe space.
What You Will Need
Please bring comfortable clothing, a journal, and a water bottle. The MVMNT Center has mats and blocks for support, but feel free to bring anything additional to make yourself comfortable.
